Understanding SQR, VQR and PQAR

Each Purchase Order suppliers receive for products or services will include important purchasing and quality requirements that all suppliers must comply with. UPDATE: Starting in October 2018, with the use of SAP, suppliers will see Supplier Quality Requirements (SQR) codes on their Purchase Orders. Please use the these SQR codes primarily, unless your PO is a legacy document still referencing VQR/PQAR. Read your purchase order and determine if Vendor Quality Requirements (VQR) or Procurement Quality Assurance Requirements (PQAR) apply. VQRs are applicable for MSSI orders and PQARs are applicable for Pacific Scientific Orders.

VQR Information

Standard VQRs apply to all Purchase Orders. A list of the standard VQRs can be found in the current revision of the VQR list linked below.

Additional VQRs that apply will be listed by number on the MSSI Purchase Order. The latest revision of all specifications in effect at the time of award of the Purchase Order shall be noted on the Purchase Order.

When suppliers utilize sub-tier suppliers, requirements shall be flowed down to the sub-tier suppler.

PQARs that apply will be listed by number on the Pacific Scientific Purchase Order. The latest revision of all specifications in effect at the time of award of the Purchase Order shall be noted on the Purchase Order.

When suppliers utilize sub-tier suppliers, requirements shall be flowed down to the sub-tier suppler.
